JVee Casio is getting married to his college sweetheart in less than a month.
Ironically, however, the Alaska Aces point guard is doing everything he can to avoid an early vacation for his team.
Casio rescued Alaska in the clutch anew, scoring 13 of his 21 points in the second half to rally the Aces past San Mig Coffee and stay alive in the Governors’ Cup playoffs.
“Hindi kami titigil kasi yun na nga do-or-die na sa amin. Nag-respond yung team kahit papaano,” Casio told InterAKTV in an exclusive interview.
Casio’s inspired play has been brought on by his impending nuptials to longtime girlfriend Jackie Maralit.
“It’s about time,” added Casio on his coming marriage. “But right now, I’m so focused on the playoffs. It’s do-or-die for all of us.”
Alaska coach Luigi Trillo is impressed by Casio’s consistent play amid the distractions of planning a wedding.
“I know there’s a lot of things going to his mind because he’s getting married on October 12,” said Trillo. “In fact, in our game against Air 21, he had his pre-gala in the church beside Mall of Asia Arena.”
