Far Eastern University Tamaraws guard Terrence Romeo is set to be named the UAAP Season 76 Most Valuable Player, after producing the most statistical points (SPs).
Romeo amassed 75.29 statistical points, edging reigning back-to-back MVP Bobby Ray Parks of the National University Bulldogs, who had 73.86 SPs.
University of the East Red Warriors center Charles Mammie actually came in second place with 75 SPs, but his pair of one-game suspensions make him ineligible to get any season awards.
UST Growling Tigers center Karim Abdul (70.93 SPs), UE point guard Roi Sumang (64.0 SPs), and NU center Emmanuel Mbe (63.57 SPs), will likely comprise the Mythical Five along with Romeo and Parks.
Romeo, who was Rookie of the Year back in Season 73, normed 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.6 steals in 14 outings this year.
Last season's Mythical Five was comprised of ADMU Blue Eagles center Greg Slaughter, DLSU Green Archer Jeron Teng, Abdul, Parks and Romeo. - AMD, GMA News
